Field Fayre is a friendly shop in the town centre specialising in local organic produce.  Denise Meek opened Field Fayre in 2003 with the aim to provide fresh local organic food produced by organic farmers in Herefordshire and surrounding counties to customers who appreciate good quality food, grown with respect for the environment and our health.
Denise and her staff provide a warm welcome and friendly personal service.  We need an alternative to the bland sterility of supermarkets and Denise greatly appreciates the encouragement and support she has received from both customers and suppliers. 

Local organic produce, in season – which is when it is at its best – is the heart and soul of the shop.  Those who shop and cook in harmony with the seasons will get immeasurable pleasure from their food and the added satisfaction of knowing where it has come from and that it has been produced naturally. Organic farming involves having respect for the land and livestock, taking responsibility and working hard, but there is a real satisfaction for the farmers in knowing that they are working in harmony with nature and encouraging biodiversity of plants and wildlife.
Despite the overwhelming trend of globalisation and industrialisation of food, there are still small producers in our country dedicated to cultivating the best varieties of our seasonal produce.  Such committed individuals are the guardians of the vital variations to the taste and texture of produce – our safeguard against a future of bland homogeneity.  If we do not use them we will lose them.
