Herefordshire has played a big part over the years in the history of England and has many treasures to share with visitors who travel here to explore its green and pleasant lands. Whether you are a day visitor or a weekender or even a long term visitor you can be sure of a friendly, warm welcome in and around  Herefordshire and its borders.

Not only does Hereford stand out as ‘The most rural county’ in England but its sheer beauty and varied landscape captures peoples hearts and embeds long term memories of a relaxing or energetic holiday.
You could join the ‘Walking Festival’ held in June and December each year, or attend the Food festival in October or you could sample the delicious locally produced foods at any time of year or walk any number of paths when ever  the mood takes you.

If walking and eating are not your reason for visiting then maybe our history is, we have numerous churches as well as our Cathedral renowned for The Mappa Mundi and chained library. Historic house, black and white villages or acres of garden are blended into the patchwork of our farming roots.
Many accommodation and attraction providers in the area have been part of Wildlife Action Awards and Green Tourism Schemes during the past five years. During 2007 it is hoped to re address the ‘Green Issue’ by encouraging previous participants and future participants to continue by joining the National Green Tourism Scheme which addresses the issues of Climate Change and global warming.

Forget air miles and crowded beaches, try a taste of Herefordshire, soak up our warm welcomes, stay healthy walking our paths and visiting our villages and enjoy the myriad of flavours with freshness wafting from every doorway.
